Previous roles include CEO at Federation Square, CEO & Managing Director of the Melbourne Storm Rugby League Club, CEO of Melbourne Polytechnic (formerly NMIT) and CEO of the Australian Information Industry Association. As CEO & MD of the Melbourne Storm, Ron navigated the club to success after the salary cap scandal that rocked the sporting world. He also built and implemented a recovery strategy for the financially challenged Melbourne Polytechnic.
Ron has held senior positions in some of the largest multinational and domestic technology organisations, including Telstra, IBM, Microsoft and Verizon. He is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors with extensive board experience across a range of industries, including as Chairman of Vicsport.
He has held executive and non-executive positions across ICT, sport, finance, technology, education and property, and is a recognised keynote corporate speaker and consultant. He is a former member of the International CEO Forum and has served on the Board of Governors for the American Chamber of Commerce.
Ron is married with five children and seven grandchildren. He has a long history of active involvement in sport and music — including as a founder and member of the executive covers band Big Kahuna.
